I understand what you are saying, but how would you feel if you found out 100M people had used exactly the same logic? This is not team sports. This is each voter voting for the candidate s/he truly feels is the best. Otherwise the system is just some big betting game. The news media/polls went out of their way to hammer into our heads that the only real choices were Rep or Dem. Now we can all see what a moral outrage it is to make important decisions by poll numbers rather than our individual wisdom and character. I freely admit that I have always been more admiring of the free thinker than the follower.
