You can protect your profits in ABTX by shorting against the box (the stock you already own). It is done all the time, not a stupid question at all.

That is one of the great myths of SI, that one cannot short an OTC BB. You can short them. The issue is that the brokerage firm that loaned them to you does not get interest on the stock loan and so most, but not all, do not bother with it. The brokerage firm does get the commish from the trade and if you are doing other business with them, you should attempt to induce them. Try Bear, Smith Barney or possibly Jack White and Oppenheimer. You will first have to have a margin account as that is a basic for shorting mechanics. Good Luck, AG.
