Travis, I think you probably should sell all your AAPL and move ahead to what you believe the best for you.

Whoa whoa...I'm still long and very bullish. I'm simply saying that it can be healthy to seperate religion from analysis. If a problem arises and the people don't speak it won't get fixed. This is a problem that apple has and it is fair to raise the issue. Just because I am voicing concern doesn't make me anti-apple nor does it imply I should sell and move on. It simply means I am speaking up! :)

I do believe that iMac margin is going to be better than most think, which gives me encouragement. I also think that if apple does refresh the PB line they'll do it quickly and get them out. I just hope that whatever they do, they do it and make it happen.

"Travis, I think you probably should sell all your AAPL and moveahead to what you believe the best for you."

Phil, that is no way to treat a fellow AAPL investor. The issues that Travis raised are legitimate concerns. I do think that Q4 earnings, unit shipment, and revenue will all impress the street however the point is that things could always be better if Apple takes the proper steps to ensure better product availability. I know that component availability isn't always within Apples control, but after hearing about that over the last 2 years it does get tiring after a while.

"There are two ways: if you think the excellent net trend will continue, then hold it; otherwise, just simply drop theball and come back to check if you get a better decision"

Travis is not asking for YOUR advice on what to do with HIS stock. He is expressing the frustration what we all feel when we see backlogs build as workers at Cork go on vacation. And by the time production gets ramped up faster processors are out and Apple either lowers the price or must begin to integrate the new processor into the system. No matter how you look at it, poor execution means lost opportunities. It costs our favorite company money and marketshare. I do believe that Apple has gotten a lot better in execution however in the area of production, there are still a lot of room for improvements.

I think the only reason Travis or myself ever point out negative aspects about AAPL is because we care about Apple and we see problems that needs to be fixed. I recall one time I had done the same and you immediately assumed that I had sold my shares. I find that insulting. Some of us care more about Apple than the money it make for us.

Eric

I do have some information which I will share with Travis in private. Hopefully that will ease some of his concerns.

One necessary evil that I'm particularly proud of: the $100 million ad campaign. I've seen 4 iMac commercials tonight alone-all are right on target and refreshing. Jeff Goldblum's voice is perfect. (2 on Seinfeld and 2 on ABC so far...)

The new ads are striking and I think very effective. Up until now, we've marketed the brand. Now we are on to selling a specific product and it's great.
