Steve, You're right, most stock does flow through mm's but most crosses are done by sales traders (their firm's market maker actually puts in the trade). "I'd disagree also... firms like letting people know they are buying so firms know where to take their orders"--- Do you mean broadcasting intentions to buy or sell via Autex, Tradecast, or Bridge? Yes they do this to get institutional tickets or orders from other non-market makers. But if you give out your account's name while working a ticket or completeing one-- YOU WILL LOSE YOUR JOB!!!!!
