To the Thread:

Blah Blah Blah. Clinton's indiscretions give the rest of the world the excuse to do this:

USA Today 21 AUG 1998

CAIRO, Egypt - Sudanese protesters shouting "Down, Down USA!"
stormed the empty U.S. Embassy in Khartoum after American strikes
Thursday on a plant in the Sudanese capital. Hundreds of people scaled the fence around the embassy, which has been officially closed since the Aug. 7 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Shouts of the Muslim rallying cry "Allah Akbar," meaning God is Great, could be heard on a newscast on state-run TV. Police appeared on the footage but were not stopping the mob. Earlier, Sudan officials denounced the U.S. attack as "a criminal act" and proclaimed it an effort by Clinton to distract attention from the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

At the funeral of French President Mitterand, his maitresse and the daughter of this relation were present in an official way.

This shows that there are different attitudes towards such relations in different countries.

John, that is most certainly true. We could also look at the Islamic countries, where women are forbidden to use the telephone without permission from their husband for each use, and where they are forbidden go in public without a face veil. Oh, and yes each "man of the house" may have several wives.

But what's the point of looking at other countries? We live in America, at least I do, and in spite of the present situation of the current White House occupant, I'm happy and grateful to be living in what I feel is the greatest country in the world. France might be a nice place to spend a few days on vacation, but give me the USA as my domicile.
