Re "Oh Canada". The Canadian Supreme Court ruled yesterday, that No, Quebec does not have any constitutional right to secede, because, a) you just dont do that in civilized countries and b) you would do that only in case of opression/violence etc. Now, Quebec collects its taxes by itself, so b strikes out. Lets see if PQ decides to go for something in the a-vein.

Do you know what Quebec licence plates say? Je me souviens . Now whenever I wanted to find out, what are they remembering all the time ("souviens de quoi?.."), they forgot even their French. So my suspicion is, they're keeping the painful memory of getting beaten on Champs d'Abraham on every darn carplate in the province.

I love Montreal on Saint Jean Baptiste. Everywhere Fleurs de Lys and big deep-blue-colour flags, fluttering in cool strong winds from Laurentians.

re being >tied in ...dec98 calls<. It's all in your mind, Steve.

re >Why, of course la bourse is down, darling...it's the season, dear<
I understand you're going for holidays, La p'tite famille Gonzo? S&P future definitely says so.

Hope you have some $/Y calls. At least my money will stay in the family (g).

Regards
