>Research on the ML technology fund..

I spoke with a friend on 08/18, who is also a broker for ML, about the tech fund, because my dad has $ in it. I think he's in class b however. The main difference is the way they charge for them.

He said that they did fire the manager, and it was because he was a major slacker. He told me the top 10 holdings, and CREAF wasn't one of them. The only ones I remember were BAY Networks, CUBE & AMAT.

He said the fund was still there, and it didn't merge with this new Global Tech fund they started up. He didn't know who was managing the old fund. He said he is recommending his clients to move into the new fund. He told about the manager of the new fund, who is supposed to be good, and described about the investment strategies. Buying the DELL's, etc.

Other than that, the fund sucks. We're going to roll into something else if it ever makes it back up to about 5.

Regards,

JP

CREAF & the ML Tech fund...

FYI... As of 06/30/98 CREAF was the top holding in the fund @ 13.9%
The next two are Micron @ 6.8% and BMC Software @ 4.8%

LU is 4.3%.
