Buyout/takeover - just our cries of holding at cost bases a lot higher

What synergies would exist? Might take a while to get equipment protocols aligned - costly and if not enough positive synergies, expect the acquiring stock to drop like a ton of bricks.

But, as people have pointed out
1) poison pill exists - does anybody have a reference for that?
2) looking at the history of the co, unlikely a takeover

Another solution, break up the co and sell off individual divisions, but in these times, multiples are not going to be as high.

Wishful thinking on all of this. If Asia drops further, so will SVGI, and Yahoo showing a book value over $18 is way wrong. SVGI suffers a little bit like CIEN without AT&T - Ciena has only a few customers now as does SVGI.

Some big money went on Dec $20 calls (2000 contracts) a month or so ago, and price was $1 5/8 at the time - good luck - expiry in December at tax loss season - not too convincing anymore.
