ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistan protested to the United States on Friday against presumed violations of its airspace during a U.S. missile strike against a target in Afghanistan, which it said had also caused casualties in Pakistan.

Pakistan said one of the missiles the United States aimed at neighboring Afghanistan landed on its soil, killing at least six people.

A Pakistani spokesman told reporters that the U.S. charge-d'affaires had been summoned to the Foreign Ministry and the protest had been delivered to him.

Journalist Kasra Naji said the missile apparently was aimed at Khost, 10 kilometers inside Afghanistan, but went off course.
