JAWS TO PROVIDE SECURITY FOR AXION INTERNET

CALGARY, Aug. 21 /CNW/ - JAWS Technologies Inc. (NASD-OTC BB: ''JAWZ'')
is pleased to announce that the company has entered into an agreement with Al
Axion Internet Communications Inc. (VSE - ''AXN''), a regional Internet
Service Provider, to provide Axion and its clientele with information security
solutions. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Jim Fish, Vice President of Axion says, ''This partnership with JAWS
allows our customers to operate their business without fear of someone
breaking into their data. Axion now supports its clientele with the most
advanced security solutions in the market today.'' Garry Leitch, Vice
President of Channel Development with JAWS Technologies added, ''We are
committed to providing our customers with total security solutions on a
national and world-wide basis. Axion is very forward thinking in providing
the technology for privacy and security on the Internet for their customers.''
The major challenge associated with convenient access to information is
security. Keeping outsiders from accessing information has largely been a
losing battle. Now Axion clientele, because of the alliance with JAWS, can
feel secure in their knowledge that all digital information is unusable by
anyone other than the intended recipient.
Axion is a full service ISP providing Internet connectivity, consultation
and web services for over 18,000 clients throughout British Columbia. Through
its strategic partnerships with BC Tel, MetroNet, Group Telecom and Westel,
Axion is deploying a high performance, modular and redundant provincial
network. With this new unparalleled capacity, 155 Mb/sec fiber optic Internet
connection and comprehensive corporate services, Axion has built the
''Backbone for Business.''
When the JAWS security service is fully provisioned, Axion will be the
only ISP to offer both its corporate and residential clients the most advanced
and easy to use security solution in the North American market.
JAWS Technologies Inc. is the developer and owner of what is considered
to be the world's strongest encryption software, JAWS ''L5'' 4096 Bit
Encryption. With its numerous programming enhancements and abilities, JAWS
''L5'' is fully developed security software that is ideal for both personal
and corporate security use. In today's digital age, electronic mail can
deliver messages and business documents around the world in seconds. Corporate
networks allow business travellers to access files from notebook computers as
if they were sitting at their desks in an office. The business community is
booming with electronic commerce, where consumers can buy anything from a
compact disc to a car over the Internet.
Security has become the single most important issue in the current IT
paradigm shift. As the rapid change from private system computing to public
system computing continues, the opportunities for intruders and the need for
improved security escalates.

Forward-looking statements and comments in this press release are made
pursuant to safe harbor provisions of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
Such statements relating to, among other things, the prospects for the
companies to complete the transaction and enhance operating results, are
necessary subject to risks and uncertainties, same of which are significant in

Hi Tom

"Pray tell, what are the terms of the pending financing ?
You must have some idea of what we're really interested in hearing."

Not really, but I do expect Robert to let us know soon. I'll go out on a limb and say within a couple of weeks.
