Yosid,

It has been my experience of 30 years as an Aero Space technician, engineer, and manager for a major Aero Space firm, engineers and scientists can spend unlimited amounts of money striving for perfection; but, it takes the "bean counters" (accountants) and good management to bring in a cost affective product, thus yielding a profit for the company.

Marketing is an important function of a company, but it is only one of many aspects of the problem. Scientists and doctors are necessary to give you product design and excellence, but it takes good management through cost control, quality assurance, sales, and product support to bring in the profits. Believe me, I have been in all sectors of product development, quality assurance, maintainabilty and reliability of design, sale and sales support, and customer training: but, without good cost control management, the whole plan will fail regardless of how good your product is.

I think LCA Vision has good management and scientific know-how. Now all they need is time and money to make the plan work.

Harry

yosid and all....It is my understanding that the company is aware of marketing needs but it is not at their level but with your eye doctor. He or she has to be trained to tell you the options, not just give you a prescription for eye glasses or contacts. IMHO this is a major factor in our high medical cost today, doctors don't take the time to explain to patients their options and therefore the patient really does not get the kind of product he or she really needs. As a person wearing eyeglasses and hearing aids, I always have had to press for the best product for my needs. I really pity the family who has to move around alot and depend on the yellow pages for medical help, might as well throw darts IMHO. My point is, if the eye doctor does not let the patient know about the laser clinic, the patient probably will never get there, that is the marketing problem. Any thoughts??? Have a good week.
