"To so a split would now would not help there
cause. " What in the world does that sentence mean, and what language is it?

Without the buyout offer where would this stock be right now? I'm not speaking of "real value" but of "perceived value" which is what the stock price reflects. "Real value" will be the main factor in the long run, but I own many shares of several "real value" companies that have eroding stock prices mainly due to lack of interest. We are looking for a very short term gain on this stock based solely on one buyout offer. If this offer doesn't happen we will all feel duped and the stock will drop hard and fast regardless of the "real value". Any kind of backup alternative would give investors the confidence this stock seems to need to take off. If the buyout is a "sure thing" then the "backup" plan would not matter, but it could shake out the shorts if there are as many shorts as people are claiming. MRF
