i expect one of the highest priorities at ROSS right now is maintaining consistency. in the release, they made the following comments about order backlogs.

"We have made significant progress toward our objective to improve the consistency of our results," said Dennis Vohs. "With eight of the last eleven quarters producing operating profits and seven of the last eleven quarters producing results either in excess of, or within $0.01 of estimates, we believe we are on the right track. As we continue to improve our consistency, we believe shareholders will begin to see the company's true value reflected in its share price."

For the quarter, the company lowered its quarterly day-sales-outstanding (DSO) to 114 days from 123 days in the same period of the prior year and 116 days in the previous quarter. Deferred revenues also increased to $18.2 million, up $2.1 million from the same period of the prior year and $2.9 million from the previous quarter. Working capital increased by $7.2 million in the quarter and $13.8 million for the year. The net capitalization of software development cost declined as a percent of total product development expenditures in the quarter to 8.3 percent from 24.3 percent in the same period of the prior year..."

that tells me they are holding some sales for future Q's to smooth out earnings and maintain momentum.
