Without addressing any of the specific issues you brought up, I think people here need to look at the general message you seem to be trying to get across.

Government has become so intrusive, that if you're on a "hit list", odds are some investigator can show you have broken some law. In many cases, the laws are contradictory - follow one, you break another.

The question is, what should we be doing about it?

Teh commericial thing is about Bill directing how the commericials would be used. It is supposedly illegal for the candidate to have any direct involvement with the campaign commericials.

Sorry DohBoy, not being prosecuted is not the same as being cleared of violating the law. It is unfortunate that there are people out there such as yourself who have decided that the rule of law should be ignored based simply on your interpretation of whether it is "inconsequential". But cheer up, most thugs on the street would be more than willing to throw their lot in with you. Yes, I do think that if Mr. Gore was interested in obeying the law he should have damn well went down to the 7-11 to make his phone calls! After all, you've been harping about the OIC spending our money legally but you don't have any problem with Al Gore spending it illegally. Unfortunately, for Mr. Gore, he missed out on an excellent opportunity to obtain the endorsement of Southland Corp.

DougH-
Gore was in fact in on several of the coffees, but not nearly as many as Clinton, and he might be culpable in the Lincoln bedroom "rental", we don't know, that's why we need an IC. BTW, it would make me feel better if he went to the 7-11 to make calls, because that's the law. If we all determined which laws applied to us, we wouldn't have much of a society.

BTW, I think Haley Barbour should also be investigated for the BS line he gave the campaign finance committee last summer. I could less about democrats or republicans, if they broke the law, they should be punished.
