Robert, no need for an apology - that post should be printed out and framed. You captured thoughts I hadn't even had yet. Hope to hear more of your thoughts.

And for more earthly Buffett thought, there was a rumor on the Street today that Buffett is buying gold stocks. No idea whether its correct or not.

I second Clarke's post. There's nothing wrong in what you say at all. If it were science, we'd have figured it out already. Unfortunately, it goes beyond just the KISS model too. It has to, since Wall Street has been onto the KISS model for over 10 years at least. Hence Buffett is now moving beyond it. It would take a crash to bring Buffett companies' stocks to Buffett-like prices. And until then, Buffett is straying from what has worked to what will likely work. Pure art. But you gotta forgive us for trying. After all, figuring even part of it out should be worth a couple million, right? <G>
