CIEN is a preview of what will happen to ASND if no one buys it. There's a $10-$15 buyout premium built into this stock.

At the current price of $45? I don't think so. If you subtract
$10 to $15 off the current price, you are talking about a forward
P/E of 20. That is pretty low.

CIEN's trouble is different. They appears to lose to LUCENT in
their business and TLAB may be rethinking the deal.

JMHO, $10 premium may have built into the price at $55!

Asnd is faily valued at $45, based on it's own current P/E and projected growth.

But, can you afford not to take the Lu/Asnd premium into considerations/calculations at any time??

The buyout price maybe a lot higher than $55.

Preiumum was removed (and viewable) when ASND announced SRA. That took ASND down to 43 and change. The premium at this point is probably not much more than $5.

Baloney ...
CIEN goes down since it lost the big contract with AT&T.
Thus the cancellation of the merger.
Not to mention the fact that they reported a bad quarter.
ASND is having a stellar quarter and expected to do even better
the next few quarters.
Do your DD before making such bogus statement.
