I think you're right. CIEN has good products and they
have buyers of technology not counting AT&T. It would
help to have TLABS as a customer source, but CIEN is still
good with going for the 2nd tier telecom players. Another
words, they can service the non-AT&T and WCOM, and still
do well.

Plus, they will pick up help along the way. Road may be
bumpy, but at this price it seems a reasonable risk to take.

I think this is a chance of a life-time. I bought in big today. I expect TLAB to step up and buy CIEN after all and if they back out, CSCO may use this as a 2nd chance to get back in. Even without a take-over, this is a solid company with great upside.

Jeff: Risk reward ratio is > 0.5 as revenue and earnings will drop. It may be prudent to wait for one Q to check out the Income statement.
