Today's commentary:

Hardest hit in the sector was Micron Technology (MU:Nasdaq), which got whacked with an 11% sell-off on concern that a recovery in prices for its DRAM chips wouldn't last long. Since mid-June, Micron's share price had rallied 80% on evidence of stable DRAM prices. "I didn't think the firming in DRAM prices was anything sustainable," said Shekhar Wadekar, an analyst at Raymond James. " If you want to play the DRAM industry you have to take a very long-term view." (Raymond James has not had an underwriting relationship with Micron.)
