At the risk of being horribly wrong, I STRONGLY suspect that the survey was responsible for the terrific move. THE one big sticking point with Apple's future is market share. Can they grow it long term, or will it be just a reclaiming of lost territory?

This survey is the first step to answering that question. The strong LEAP action noted by a previous post also indicates that the change relates to AAPL's long-term viability.

More surprisingly good news in the education space:

Also, the University of Michigan got 500 iMacs in and has sold them all, with more expected soon. Apple is doing a great job supplying these things.

If some laptop sales slip into next quarter, that's not the worst thing in the world. Regrettable, but not a killer.
