Good points Chris. I was shocked at the markets' reaction to this news. It's obvious the LU boys still have a great in at T, so it shouldn't have come as such a shock that CIEN wouldn't get this particular piece of business.

I think CIEN is now the best high tech buy and I'm going in deeper on Monday.

Cheers,

Peppe

>> Why do investors care whether CIEN sells WDM equipment to ATT? <<

A) $100+ million dollars is not chicken feed
B) It speaks to the credibility of CIEN management, who led us to believe that T revenues were a matter of "when", not "if".
C) First WCOM, now T, and perhaps FON might slow some orders as well.

I agree with you that AT&T are a bunch of idiots and will probably be left in the dust by more savvy players such as WCOM, QWST, etc.

I still like CIEN and think their business opportunities are enormous, but new information has come to light and the risks have increased greatly, so CIEN only becomes attractive to me in the 20's.
