What happens is I place an order to sell short,First you have to have
a margin account. The broker borrows 10000 shares of cd from your account.
Then he sells them and holds the proceeds of the sale.At sometime I have to
replace those shares that I borrowed, hopefully at a lower price than
what I sold them at.I get to keep the price difference. It is a very
dangerous game,if I would have had to cover at say 40 1/8 to replace what
i had borrowed,I would have lost30000.Not a game for the weak of heart.
