Colleen, I was having dinner with the President of JVC Thailand last week and broached the subject of HDTV with him. In Japan the use of the term HDTV is different from our usage. Their HDTV is in fact an analog signal. They are however changing over to the digital format on a similar schedule to US.

Just thought that this would clear up the 7 years. The statement is correct but with the above caveat.
