The recent mandated ability to buy cable modems by October this year should perk demand, no? Modems will be displayed at retailers and fall within easy grasp of consumers through increased accessibility. Also, since they are presently leased by cable-operators at a premium (or at least, mine is), there should be a decline in access fee as the leasing component of total fee can be optioned out. Any credence to this? Would this spur demand?

Regards,

I have a cable modem.

I truly feel once it is widespread (2-3 years?) it will replace TV as the main media device in homes.

If I'm half right you can apply whatever market methodology floats your boat and you will predict huge numbers.

Just one man's opinion.
