Diamond...I appreciate your bear case, and I think you might recognize me as not being a perma-bull on this thread.
I feel that if things start falling apart in the Middle East and other places, the supply part of the equation will cause oil prices to spike upward. FWIW Amoco has already cancelled a pipeline project in, I believe, Afghanistan. Potential result = less supply. I also feel we will have a La Nina effect this winter which will spur demand in the US.
All MHO. BTW, I've never felt that OPEC has it together, nor am I "trying to fight the market." I have a small position in this sector as a normal course of business in portfolio mgmt.
