charles, my current thoughts on video cards for win 98

atitech.ca
(be sure to check out the ATI-TV tuner card)

ATI XPERT@play98 AGP/pci - has TV out - play your 3d games
on your TV. $105 ($20 rebate if you submit proof of Win98 purchase)

ATI XPERT98 PCI - fill your PCI slots up with this one. $65 at pricewatch.com

Both of these cards run on the same chip. 230 RAMDAC,
8 SGRAM - wow - They also have a current offer for DVD decipher
gizmo for DVD movie watching - okay, watch a movie in another
corner of your screen. Glad I have 21" monitors <g>.

ATI-TV
Then they have a TV tuner card (ISA) that allows you to watch
CNBC on a corner of your monitor (cause your using your big screen TV to play a super duper 3d game with the TV out feature).

I've switched from Matrox to ATI because of the instant driver
support in Win 98 and the cards have better reviews than
the Matrox Mystique 220, which I was once upon a time going to use.

The opinion of this thread has been to stay away from Diamond
cards. Check out their web site for multimonitor compatibility
if you really want to use the stealth. Some of their cards will
work as the primary, but not secondary card, and vice versa.
Some will not work for multimonitors at all.
