I agree that some of the tone of Info Dart's posts on his thread is didactic and a wee bit pompous, but to razz him for talking about basic statistical theory (bimodal distributions) says more about you than he, IMO. He's trained as a research methodologist, as am I (yeah, believe it or not, "off-topic banter" aside) the vocabulary's pretty much par for the course among statisticians.

<< Don't forget the gratuitous use of the term "bimodal
distribtution(sic) of trade latencies,">>
Excuse me. I thought trading had something to do with numbers. You must be quite a technician.

<<Then there's "the distribution of execution latencies could not be bimodal!" at Message 5529829

len, it is considered bad style to misquote someone, especially when engaging in criticism. It's also reveals your intentions when you take quotations out of context to make your point. It is customary when providing a partial quote to do it like this. " . . . the distribution of execution latencies could not be bimodal!"
That alerts the reader that their may be additional meaning in the sentence that you did not get.

"I agree with you that there is a random component. However, there
must be systematic factors operating here. Otherwise, the distribution of execution latencies could not be bimodal! There is some reason why there is a valley between the peaks." . . . emphasis added

<< Then there's this one, exhibiting a level of pomposity>>
You seem more concerned with appearances than with substance. Hmmm, I see.

<< Forgive me for not taking the time to find the exact post.>>
It doesn't exist, turkey. But I'm sure you won't "take" the time to look.

<<What's too bad is that a jab at him too easily pierced his thin skin and grabbed his fragile psyche, preventing him from being able to see it for what it was. Then the attacks came. But of course, it was I who was the attacker.>>

Hey len, do ya know how to spell PROJECTION, or is that too technical of a term for you. Let me give you a hint it doesn't have anything to do with that machine making the movie pictures. It has to do with you. But, "I mean that in a nice way."

It must be painfully obvious to you by now how naked you are. I'm trying to look away but . . .

. . . Man of little sir, me thinks the record does not support your assertions regarding the attack.
On the other hand maybe you Feel attacked and cornered when you get caught in your own web of rhetoric and lies.

<<And TLC, of course it's personal.>>

Hey len, I think TLC can speak for himself.
No offense was taken. I have to admit it was kind of like diving into a pool wearing a loose fitting bathing suit. It seems you've had some experience with that.

I know I playing to a stacked jury, but I'll call for the question anyhow. Do I hear a nomination?
