Thanks for the info. Yes, I have seen the behavior of abandonment from many companies, and actually expected it from the Viper, as the prices were slashed greatly in recent months, and I expected a new version was about to come out. Sure enough, they announced the new Viper with the NEW version of the RIVA 128 chipset last week. However, having the first card a while, I've seen them continually post updated drivers to their website at the rate of about one every two months. That's not bad. However, their one and only NT driver was posted in 10/97, and called a "pre-release" driver. They've never posted another one, and their tech support says they are still working on it. HA! In fairness, however, beyond your personal bad experience, I don't think you would deny that the Viper is a really fine all around, everyday card. Certainly not the best, but not in the low end either. It has garnered great reviews everywhere I look, and like I say, haven't seen any problems. I used it in 95, then 98, even while I was using it in NT. And, with my multiple trading feeds, and many other windows open, including constantly dragging them around two 19 inch monitors, I think I task them pretty well, and nary a blip have I seen. Of course, it's not a card for CAD and such, but, then, neither do I need such a card. I'm not a gamer either, but they are admittedly not a gamer's card, as they don't claim any great 3D performance, and nVidia makes the same point. I guess I've been lucky so far. I'll be sure to keep your comments in mind for the future, so thanks for taking the time to reply. P.S. Ahem.... I think it was I who first suggested the monitor swap to Sire.<ggg>
