No. I did not sell short additional shares of any stock into this selling climax. Despite recent dogs like Russian or Brazil stocks point out, that is is still possible to earn on new shorts even at these low prices - see TBR, Vimpelcom, ROS Telekom or Radio Central.

Indeed, today I bought or bought back a thousand share of different stocks.

Maybe you have seen the date of my mail raising concerns about the merger - Aug 15, well before the date when the shareholder meeting was called off.
I raised my concerns alone, amongst the widespread opinion that the merger is done 1:1 and rightaway. Hords of sheeps worked the spread from $6 to $ 1/2 in six days - being completely unaware that TLAB shareholders seriously put the exchange ratio under question.

The reaction - turn into a sudden long position at bottom, is obvious and sometimes successful to make quick bucks, I do it sometimes if have time to watch a beaten stock closely. Together with short covering it may send the stock upwards some points.

What hasn't changed are weaker fundamentals of CIEN, so its new price tag - around $30-$35 has to be proved again. ATT hangup or not - at least CIEN has to earn money.
