John,

..where Barron's article states:

"It's surprising that the Street remained so confident of the deal
because only a week ago Ciena signaled that its third-quarter profits would fall significantly short of expectations."

You answered Barron's question already! The author should have read your post #3219.

"tlab management reiterated several times that they were interested in tech. not cien bus."

...chug....chug....chug...the freight train's* coming!

The quote from Barron's trader, "After the market closed Friday, Ciena issued a statement saying its business outlook hasn't changed despite the AT&T setback and that it continues to recommend shareholder approval of the merger." LOL I bet they are pounding the table with billy clubs for the merger and you get a 100% yes vote from CIEN shareholders! Too bad they aren't the ones that count. What a joke of a comment...and excuse me, I think CIEN's business outlook has changed considerably in the last week.

Rory
