REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to the overwhelming demand for its Y2K initiative announced earlier this month, Oracle Corp. The addition of the implementation partners gives customers the choice of using an independent integrator to provide the implementation services component of the Fast Forward Financials Y2K bundle.

"The response to our FastForward Y2K Financials initiative has been tremendous," said Ray Lane, president and COO of Oracle Corp. "With the addition of these consulting partners, we can now provide extra capacity and implementation alternatives that can help customers become Y2K compliant quickly, typically in 60 days or less."

The Oracle implementation partners participating in this effort are a subset of Oracle's Partner program called Oracle Service Providers (OSP), certified regional and national integrators committed to the middle-market, who provide unmatched expertise in Oracle(R) Applications and methodologies, industry expertise, and overall quality of service. "Oracle is making a significant investment in the training, certification and support of Oracle Service Providers and we look forward to the benefits they will bring to our customers."

>>It may be a bit early, but has anybody heard anything regarding Sept. earnings?

I doubt that you'll be able to get hard info, so all that's left is speculation and rumor <g>. The report is due out on 9/16, and Zack's shows the current consensus at .16. There are 22 analysts involved, and there is quite a spread; the high estimate is .20 and the low is .11.

The guys who claim to know the elusive whisper number aren't much help either.

Whisper Number (http://www.whispernumber.com/newpage3.htm) is bearish at .12.

Earnings Whisper (http://www.earningswhispers.com/stocks.asp?symbol=orcl) is slightly bullish at .17.

ORCL posted .15 for this quarter last year; if they hit the .16 estimate, it won't do much for shareholder wealth.
