What would ATI get by buying TDDDF?? That is the question. Are they better off to buy somebody like Nvida, with good oem business, or TDFX to get into the gaming business, or Matrox, to simply dominate the market, or somebody like TDDDF with some interesting high end and a potential good desk top chip, with a terrible current business? I do not think, S3 is one of the4 candidates. Simply becuase they are just too big, and concentrate on the low end, even though I hear the Savage 3 is a ggod chip. If they buy S3, they will dominate the market as well. Once again, the question is why TDDDF versus the others? What is Osman trying to get buy buying DPI? Who the F*** is Digital Pictures, Inc. anyway? You do not see them any where. Why did they buy a second or third tier board maker, while they could have bought some body like Herculas, which Elsa just bought??? Why settle for DPI? What am I missing here?
