Hi Jan and all,

I've always felt abbreviations for the primary and secondary support lines should be written as follows:

The Major trend lines are capitalized:

Bullish Support Line: BSL
Bearish Resistance Line: BRL

Secondary trend lines due to their status get kicked down to lower case:

Bullish Resistance Line: brl
Bearish Support Line: bsl

To lower case the Bearish Resistance Line doesn't seem to do the trend line justice.

Here's a few more that I've used in the Chartcraft Report and some that Chartcraft finds helpful:

Buying Climax: BC
Selling Climax: SC
High Pole at the Bearish Resistance Line: HPB
Uptrend Line penetrated (long term support gives way): UTL
Downtrend Line penetrated (long term resistance is overcome): DTL
Bull Trap (immediate reversal after a triple top breakout): +T
Bear Trap (immediate reversal after a triple bottom sell): -T
Red Zone (long term resistance area): RZ
Green Zone (long term support area): GZ

Take care,
Bruce

Thanks for info. That will be a big help. I need to reread BG's book again before I ask too many question.

Do you want me to do my portfolio based on strictly on FA or do you want me to make a feeble attempt at P&F?

One suggestion for your contest results page is to include the results versus the Dow and SP 500 during the same period.

Idea for your GRUB game.

I see that this thread is averaging over 1000 post a month (chatty little group), so here is a grub contest (maybe even prizes should be award too):

The GRUB post number that matches:

1. End of Year Dow Close
2. High Dow for the Year
3. Low Dow for the Year

At your current post run rate, this thread will be well over 10,000 by the end of the year. If the dow runs that much, I am sure the post activity will pick up because not only will the offense be on the field but it will be sprinting down the sidelines.

Just a thought
