The mistake you make is that by phrases such as "our soldiers" you express a outmoded sense of things. I've worked in many joint operations with other countries. Professional soldiers are more interested in the job they do than in the country they do it for. That's what it means to be a professsional soldier.

I'm sorry that you believe that. Your definition of a "soldier" is my definition of a "mercenary." My friends believe that they are risking/risked their lives for their country, not as part of a "job." An hit man does a "job." A soldier enforces the will of and protects his country.
