One of my Y2K contacts lives in their (Empire District) service area, and has been regularly calling them for an update on their Y2K preparedness since 11/97. This week, this is what their PR told her, over the phone. She posted it to a private Y2K email list just last evening. Source's name: Candace Turner, husband Lester. Wonder when all these critical services will* finally get around to telling the public just what the heck is going on... should be an interesting day when the 100th monkey (panic) syndrome finally kicks in, eh?
