CNNFN probably miss-quoted MSFT about sales of NT 5.0 being hurt due to NetWare. In fact, CNNFN probably called MSFTs public relations office and got some lowly peon to make a comment. I searched Yahoo! and no other news agency picked up that story. I also searched MSFTs site and they made no official anouncment about NT 5.0 sales, period. MSFT has a history of keeping investor expectations low so there are no negative surprises, but to make an announcement about sales of a product that won't be sold for 18 months is not something MSFT would do. It makes no sense - I am sure it was a miss-quote.
