Now see there, Gyp? That's why women should never interrupt when us guys are talking.

We're not talking about satellite TV (I already have a DSS system too), we're talking about satellite modems. The new Web TV uses a regular modem and phone line. The expense with a satellite internet connection (or phone, for that matter) is the uplink. Wideband downlink is pretty cheap, but uplink can require a seperate transponder unless there is a telemetry "consolodation" point somewhere.

I don't know whether to complain about women or Kanuks. Cheesh!

But, I guarantee that as soon as anything close to affordable comes down the pike to replace my phone system, I'll jump on it like a duck on a junebug. I'm hoping that in a few years there will be fiber to my door, and all my problems will be solved. Yeah, right. About as likely as finding oil on the place.

Gyp, I use a WebTV Box. It's not as great as a computer
but for just bumming around on the internet it's
good enough for me.
