Tom, Mostly agree with you disortation, however 100 points + or - is one thing, but Fridays low was down 250, not the 77 for the close...

You, for one have taught us that we follow the trend...and that being a down trend...we do not look at closing numbers, but the high or low for the day...250 down, falls out of the daily 100 + or - area...

Your thoughts???

I for one believe that all markets, look at the others and the world events, and then factor in these events... Some may say this is the bottom, yet I foresee further decline due to unfortold events...

Tom:

You have made the point I have been espousing for years---and it applies across the board, not just in politics.

Certain things somehow become true for people simply because they have been repeated over and over again. After awhile, these familiar mantras become true for people because they've heard or read them before, from any number of sources. Politicians have, of course, raised this to an art form through their extensive and wide ranging use of spin masters.

Welcome to the decade of the sound byte, repeated a gazillion times so that people can't escape its resonance......
