If TLAB didn't postpone the meeting, the vote would be absolutely NO by the institutions. "Re-assess" is Birck trying to salvage the deal by giving his shareholders sometime to think it over. The fact that T has never got hold of a 40 channel DWDM when 3 other customers have been using it in the field for a while tells me T has no sense of urgency as WCOM or FON or MCIC does. CIEN was offered $54/sh. by another company in May and Nettles has absolutely sure CIEN will meet $1.7 Y99 forecast, I'll say hell with T. In fact, the majority of internet traffic is not even carried by T.

Gary, I just listened to CIEN conference call, questions & answers. Several times, Pat Nettles referred to giving TLAB shareholders more time as "fiduciary responsibility." Could it be a legal requirement somehow?

Gary

I think there was too much pressure coming from the shareholders and the t was an excuse to walk away for awhile. Can you image the out cry if after the merger they disclosed they knew t stopped testing. In my mind that is why they put everything on hold. Both were feeling the heat. John
