Tim,

Do you mean you think there is a $50 cash deal? Or -- and setting aside all the legal intricacies of the pooling of interest restrictions -- asnd shareholders are going to get something like 0.6 shares of arguably over-inflated (oh, who am I kidding? hyper-inflated) lu stock?

More to the issue, though, I wonder how a $50 a share bid would go over with asnd shareholders. I think myself a fairly polite fellow, so I'd probably just very diplomatically advise LU to come back when they were serious, and to hope that we were still for sale.

Tim: I thought it was illegal for LU and ASND to even enter into talks before 30 days before the pooling restriction is lifted. That's why everyone is looking at Sept 1 - That's the day that they can start talking. I believe LU is not as bold as AT&T when it comes to large takeovers, and maybe they are too stingy. But $50 is way too low. Doesn't matter what LU has in the labs, it's what ASND has delivering to customers today that counts. On the other hand, do you think AT&T may be influencing LU on whom to purchase (maybe coaching them for the big day).

Also, if LU wanted ASND real bad, then Mory wouldn't be doing his job to let LU steal it for $50. As for Mory selling shares, these big guys always sell. They know they'll be getting more the next quarter. It's the little guys who hold onto their few options and shares, hoping and dreaming and then finding themselves underwater.

And PKPG was going to double or more. It is 10 cents on the dollar now. And Sowbug and I are back working for a living, the bug primarily IMHO because of following your advice on Pennies.

There is not LU deal at $50!!! It least that is what my gut tells me when I look into the eyes of the Ascend CFO, Treasurer and IR people when I talk to them face to face. Besides a deal would need shareholder approval, and I won't vote yes for $50 and neither would 90% of the longs on this thread.

Sometimes you're on your game, and sometimes you're in left field looking at the grandstands, IMHO. No one has a working Crystal Ball, but at $50 you need to get yours tuning in a little better.

i believe lu wanted asnd
real bad and may have came to a behind close door agreement for a 50 dollar
takeover price when asnd was in the mid 20's. if you remember that was the time
when the rumor was at it's high.

I seriously doubt this. If the deal is already done, then Mory would not have stuck his neck out to acquire SRA. If LU wanted SRA, then they would have done it directly. The SRA deal muddies up all prior takeover agreements, if any had existed.
