<<and not by a third party analysis firm>>

I thought it was. The firm just happened to use data from ComputerWare customers. Btw, ComputerWare has a hell of an iMac ad in today's SF Chronicle. Not only do they list how many machines are available at each store, starting today, but also list all the USB peripherals they have in stock (much, much better than a week ago!) and the ones they expect soon. A really good ad. Btw, they have only 5-12 per store. Probably sold out again today .

Also important for our purposes (Eric, et al take note) they are listing all the desktop configurations, including the 233 DT at $1399. Since this was listed at $1299 a few weeks ago and then crossed off the blackboard at the Berkeley store, it says to me that supplies are limited (read: almost impossible) and not for sale below MAP. Somehow they found a few more to put on sale. Just more anecdotal evidence that the low end models will be sold out this quarter. Even more interesting is the fact that the ad listed all the PB models. Are they in stock? I don't know ...

Also, CompuTown, a local chain that has always had a nice Mac presence, has been running back to school ads in the Chron, with the iMac always featured on top. PCs are given less prominence.
