Just started picking my first tomatoes this year and still think Super Fantastic have the best flavor. Of course I could be all wet as the only other tomato I could compare it to is a Jetstar.

Been a long time since I've posted (or even read for that matter) to this thread, but I did get one thing done this year. I've got a right nice 8' x 8' raised strawberry bed (covered of course <g>) planted with 3 different types.

What I'd like to know is what kind of preparations should I make for them this fall and or winter so that I get a good crop next year.

Do I need to do any pruning like cut the plants down?

Should I use a heavy mulch and cover them since they're in a raised bed, or would that even make any difference with regard to their proximity to ground level?

What kind of "feeding" should I do and when (i.e. prior to next year's growth during the fall or winter, or wait until the spring?)

Yeah, I could probably hunt all over the damn web and eventually find something, but I've learned that usually somebody knows most of what I need anyway, so I'll leave that as a last resort.

TIA for any help,

Mike
