Thanks for the refresher - but I was being facetious. See techstocks.com
for a slightly less cryptic version of what I was trying to say. I think the fact that there are still only token examples of 1394 devices suitable for general purpose use, despite, as you say, a lengthy period since the de facto standard was out, makes the point. 1394 should be an important technology but it will not be unless mainstream players drive it. Apple apparently no longer has the stroke to get the industry to take it on faith.
