AOL compared to EDS-
It hit me when EXCITE had AOL listed as a Competitor to EDS along with a list of other data services and information services firms. What really hit me was the fact that AOL was on top of the list with a $24B cap. It blew me away. Remember just a few months ago, AOL was in deep kimshe with server crashes, long long wait times, email crashes, etc. and now it has $6B more market cap than EDS! EDS has at least 12 million customers, dealers, users, etc accessing mission critical information services, fund transfers, and E-commerce. What's AOL got? 12 million chat and email users? I subscribe to two Internet services. In my ranking AOL is so far down the list that I do not believe I would use their crummy service if they paid me to do so. There is no comparison. EDS is a first class data services company delivering mission critical data services, AOL is a less than first class Internet Service Provider at best. I am not long on AOL and I am long on EDS.
