I am not arguing with you, I am just telling you what my broker said. ETrade told me back then, when I also was trying to margin DGIV, that I could not do so. I can accept that it was a broker-to-broker decision, if that is what it is. But ETrade told me that it was not their decision, that the SEC decided when a stock became marginable. Does the SEC apply these rules broker to broker? Or was either your broker or ETrade misinformed?
