< ps I see the IRS wants everyone to have the option of paying their taxes on credit
cards -- interesting.>

Take a look at BETT , they might have the equipment to do just that.

Israel has quite a few neighbors to sign a peace treaties with before they can expect peace. And a number of them are not formal governments. Witness the U.S. now at war with a terrorist organization rather than a clearly defined state.

Dear SOROS:

Quite interesting. On the Y2K issue, I was discussing end-time Biblical prophecies with a friend and I made the statement to him that I did not see any particular significance in the year 2000 from a prophetic standpoint. This is especially so since our calendar is not accurate at least as measured from the birth of Christ (since Christ was probably born around 4 B.C.). My friend is not particularly interested in end-times prophecies, but he made a statement which I found very interesting. He said that the year 2000 is quite important for us all because of the Y2K glitch. He works for a local hospital and is in charge, along with other things, of overseeing the hospital's Y2K compliance. He said that he performed a test on a respirator in which he advanced the clock so the respirator thought it was 1/1/2000 and sure enough the thing didn't work. I, of course, had heard of the Y2K issue but when he told me these things in the context of our discussion about end-time prophecies and events, I began to consider it from that perspective. I am not yet convinced one way or the other that there is a prophetic connection, but I think you make a good point that something as simple as a two-digit glitch has certainly shown us that the mighty computer is fallible since it was made by humans and humans are certainly fallible. That is an important lesson that we sometimes tend to forget. I like your tower of Babel analogy - I think it's quite appropriate. Tom
