Gary, It was here on the intel thread a few days ago, a commentary about how Intel had mistepped and had no lower value processors and AMD/Cyrix did wel. I will scan for it but at a hundred posts/day or more it takes time. It might be on AMD thread which has a lower pace.

A decline or increase in the ASP hits the bottom line strongly as it is pure profit/loss(AMD) and so all try to keep ASP as high as possible in maximizing revenues.
