Thanks for your post. I'm with Fido Spartan Brokerage as well. Currently, I'm doing my day trading while on the phone with a Spartan trader (simply cannot do it by WebExpress or Fox, impossible).

Usually, when the MMs are on auto, we will get a fill in seconds, and then can trade out in seconds. This trader will stay on the line with me for many minutes at a time, allowing for some reasonable 1/8th trading.

The problem arises when (1) I can't get through (even though I see a trade) and (2) the MMs go to manual (which is death).

As I've been saying, I'm becoming more and more convinced that I need to at least try MB to see if it works any better. As MB can't take my 401k account, I can leave that at Fido and day trade it there.
