..."Americans themselves built the camps for the purpose of war, and now we use the buildings as education and welfare centers," Khalil said.

I also read that many of these fighting Afghans were not rehabilitated into civilian life and were left to their devices. If you train a PitBull to be vicious, one day it may kill the owner's child. So the fighting Afghans went ahead and practised what they were trained for in the form of terrorism against USA and India in Kashmir.

The same is true in Ceylon. The Tamils have been fighting the Sinhalese and many have lost lives on both sides. Eventually even if peace comes to Ceylon, the Tamils have been deprived of normal life, & normal democratic political system for so long such that the Tamil Tigers don't know what it is to function in a democracy. The longer this fight goes on between the Tamils and Sinhalese, return to normalcy and democratic institutions become more and more difficult. It is difficult to change a Tamil Tiger into a voting citizen under these circumstances. The Sinhalese Govt does not seem to understand the psychology of prolonged bitterness, and war between people. The Govt should find a solution, such as complete autonomy to Tamils with the exception of military forces, currency etc.

When it comes to Kashmir, I feel that the Kashmiris - the law-abiding Pundits and Muslims - want to live in peace. But the problem is the Pakistani-instigated insurgency against Indian forces.

See what is happening in Ireland. Same thing.
