ZP, you're right, we could get bogged down easily. My reaction
now that I know a little more is that there's probably a bad
interaction between the ultra-modern Matrox and the old
video driver. If that's the case it probably has nothing to do
with RAM. To diagnose this you could conceivably swap out the
video board. If someone suggested that to me, I admit I'd
suggest a long walk off a short dock <g>.

The only other suggestion I have worth a flip is to load a really
big project to see if the app balks. If it doesn't, we can
be pretty sure it's not in fact a RAM problem causing the trouble.

I don't suppose you have to do anything really old like
configuring expanded memory in EMM386 or something? If that
were true, the app would demur, right? The fact that it loads
means memory's ok, it sounds like.
