Whatever 'appliances' constitute the future of desktop computing, Dell will be selling them. As for Internet Appliances taking over, I really don't think that's going to happen within the next 5-10 years. After all, how are you going to play Quake III on a dumb appliance? More than anything else, games and 3D applications are going to fuel the need for faster and faster PC's. You are going to need a lot of front-end horsepower for it, and that's not going to change.
